Optiphen Plus is a paraben- and formaldehyde-free preservative system that is ideal for products with a lower pH systems. Optiphen Plus is an ISP patent-pending liquid preservative formulation featuring an innovative blend of phenoxyethanol, sorbic acid and an emollient base that is ideal for slightly acidic personal care products requiring broad spectrum protection. The combination of all three ingredients offers effective protection against bacteria, yeast and mold growth while imparting emolliency. Optiphen Plus performs best in formulations below 6.0 pH. Depending on the formulation, Optiphen Plus has also been proven effective at pH levels above 6.0. This preservative is effective as a stand-alone system and functions well with other preservatives. Optiphen Plus has an extensive range of applications in aqueous and emulsion-type personal care formulations and is compatible with most raw materials in the personal care industry. Great for my hair products
I was looking for a all natural preservative to preserve my products and when I found optiphen plus I was so relieved, the only thing that have to work around is the scent it I’ll just add a fragrance oil or add a essential oil.

Works well, but it has a different scent
I do like how it's paraben and formaldehyde-free and it was quite effective in my lotion, but I can't quite get over the scent. I will purchase again, but I think it will need more essential oil to overcome the scent.

great preservative
I have sensitive skin, so I need to use non-irritating preservatives. This product is awesome. As a bonus, it doesn't have a smell that I have dealt with from other preservatives.
Note: some preservatives act more as a surfactant; this one will combine more as an oil. -
Can't Wait...
I have not used this yet, but I will when I get the chance. It came packaged perfectly. I'm glad it does not have all the "yucky" stuff that the other preservatives do.

Great Preservative!
This product works great as a preservative for my goat's milk lotion. I love the fact that it is paraben and formaldehyde free! Great product and price, will buy again!
