The use is primarily to cut soaps at one inch. But it has tilted walls, the front is tilted also, the cutting knife not big enough to keep within and cut.
The cutting knife is bad too. it changes shape while cutting. We cannot get correct shape bar soap with this combination.

I really like this one better than a wooden one I bought on Ebay. I wish it came with a blade for the price, though.

First know, the quality of the materials used in the production of this item is very good. The edges however were a bit sharp and could cause a cut if you bumped into it it the wrong way. I am a handy person and have tools galore. I grabbed a file and rounded the edges off before i handed it off to my Princess to use. This is NOT a reason to buy another product somewhere else. Just a word to let you know if you buy this great product that you know it may need some attention. Especially if you intend for young children to be "helping".

The cutting box really comes in handy for making my soaps evenly cut. I gave it four stars instead of 5 only because I have to keep taking the loaf out to retrieve the cut bars. Other than that, I love it.

I really like this and it really helps when cutting soap loaves. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars because the metal is very sharp around all the edging and my hands are all cut up. I'll have to find a way to cover the edges and still be able to wash it. Thank you:)

I love this cutter for most loaves but if your making a Taiwan swirl and have to turn the loaf on it's side to cut this cutter will not work. Hence the one star deduction

Excellent in its simplicity.

I bought this cutting box to help with getting a consistent cut for my soaps which this box does help some but I think it needs something to keep the soap from sliding backwards as the soap is being cut. Usually I will use my hand to do this but it still slides backwards. Maybe something that would hold it in place better would work. Overall, it's much better than trying to do it free handed.
