I was hoping that this smelled somewhat like a carnation but it does not at all. Kind of has a soapy, bubbly smell, not unpleasant but not carnations at all.

Real carnations (which I grow many varieties every year) have different scents. Some have no scent, some are much spicier smelling than others, etc. And some smell downright bad to me. But this oil has captured the best notes a real carnation will throw. I opened the bottle and it smelled heavenly. I also noticed this oil is stronger than others I have used from different suppliers, meaning I can use less of it in soy which is cost effective. We put a batch on display and they all sold out within hours the day before Christmas. My customers loved this fragrance and so did we.

I absolutely love this scent. Fresh and clean without being floral, like real carnations. My absolute favorite. Scent holds well in CP soap.

I really love this fragrance. I'm not sure I think it smells just like a carnation, but it is fresh and clean without being "flowery".

Having purchased other carnation oils, I was prepared to be just as disappointed with this purchase.

SURPRISE! It is soft, sensuous, & sweetly long-lasting. Of course, I realize it suits my skin chemistry but may not suit others'.

I recommend it without qualification to carnation lovers everywhere.
